Israel!

Hannah and I are safely arrived in Israel. We were met at the airport by good mates of mine, had hummus lunch in Abu Ghosh, and then I went to Shabbat dinner. 

Today, Agam took us to Mount Herzl, where we had a lot of stories and discussion of the rise of the modern political state of Israel. This evening, we plan to attend part of a peace rally. 

Things are tense in the city, with several incidents having taken place in the last few weeks. But we are hoping to see most places - just at specific times and with specific people!

I lived in Jerusalem for a summer several years ago as a student abroad. Lots of stuff I remember - I was afraid I might have forgotten quite a lot, but memories are rushing back!
